Shinto ritual in the previous capital Kyoto

Kyoto Shintoism praying ritual

Gokito which is the real way of life for Japanese people

Shinto ritual is not open for foreign tourists because this is not a show.

If you are serious about this sacred zone, join us and we will open the door as your local guide.

What we will do

Let's experience a Shintoism ritual of Kyoto, we will guide tourists to the place where tourists can not enter by themselves. We can see the priest chanting nearby the shinto priest inside a shrine in Kyoto. The chanting itself continues for about a few minutes.

Please don't misunderstand about this opportunity. This is not a show.We hope you respect all the things excuted in the shrine. Deities are not visible but the ritual is a communication with them. We will teach how to behave and pray inside.
It is completely unknown to tourists here, and applying form in English version is not prepared. What we will show is a scene of the place where local Japanese are familiar.

In Kyoto there are must-see places tourists can easily visit but where we go inside is not for them. A really sacred and holy territory is where we pray with the preist chanting mantras for a very best wish from heart. After that, we will walk in the shrine enjoying a beautiful garden and we will translate what is chanted in English. When you finish this experience, you would understand the meaning of Shinto and what it is like exactly for us.

You can come to the meeting point by subway from Kyoto station where it is the main hub station in Kyoto. It is only some stops from Kyoto station to Takeda station. Once arriving to Takeda station, please find "West exit" to the street outside. You'll see a traffic circle and a bus stop.
